CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

1. PURPOSE


This Policy explains the cancellation, refund, and payment terms applicable to services provided through SmartHomeTime.com.


2. SERVICE BOOKINGS


Appointments, site visits, consultations, inspections, and project bookings may be subject to cancellation charges.


3. CUSTOMER CANCELLATION


Customers may cancel a booking by providing notice in writing or through the contact methods available on our website.


4. CANCELLATION MORE THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE APPOINTMENT


Where cancellation is received more than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled appointment, no cancellation fee will normally apply.


5. CANCELLATION WITHIN 24 HOURS


Where cancellation occurs less than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled appointment, SmartHomeTime reserves the right to charge:


• Site visit fees

• Consultation fees

• Travel expenses

• Administrative costs

• Contractor reservation fees


6. ENGINEER OR CONTRACTOR ATTENDANCE


If an engineer, electrician, technician, or contractor has already travelled to or arrived at the property, the minimum call-out charge shall remain payable.


7. MISSED APPOINTMENTS


If the customer is unavailable, fails to provide access, or is not present at the agreed time, SmartHomeTime may charge:


• Travel costs

• Time costs

• Call-out charges

• Rebooking fees


8. DESIGN AND CONSULTATION FEES


Fees paid for:


• Technical consultations

• Site assessments

• Engineering services

• Project planning

• KNX design

• Smart home design

• Solar system design


are generally non-refundable once the service has been performed.


9. MATERIALS AND SPECIAL ORDERS


Materials, equipment, custom products, and special-order items purchased specifically for a project may not be refundable.


Any refund will depend on supplier policies and applicable costs already incurred.


10. DEPOSITS


Deposits may be required before project commencement.


Deposits may be partially or fully non-refundable where:


• Materials have been ordered

• Labour has been scheduled

• Design work has been completed

• Costs have already been incurred


11. PROJECT CANCELLATION AFTER COMMENCEMENT


If a customer cancels a project after work has commenced, the customer remains responsible for:


• Completed work

• Labour costs incurred

• Materials purchased

• Administrative costs

• Any third-party costs incurred


12. REFUNDS


Where a refund is approved, it will normally be processed using the original payment method.


Refund processing times may vary depending on payment providers and banking institutions.


13. THIRD-PARTY CONTRACTORS


Where services are provided by partner companies or independent contractors, refund requests relating to their services may be subject to the contractor’s own terms and conditions.


14. EXCEPTIONS


Nothing in this Policy affects any rights available to consumers under applicable UK consumer protection laws.


15. POLICY CHANGES


SmartHomeTime reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time.
